  • What I Do

    Lisanne is a teacher, professor and director specializing in Educational Theater, Theatre for Young Audiences and Access and Belonging in theater. She worked for more than a decade as a theatre teacher in the New York City public school system, served as an adjunct professor in the Educational Theatre graduate program at the City College of New York, as an Assistant Professor of Theatre Education and Theatre for Young Audiences at East Carolina University. and is currently serving as the Executive Vice-President of the Educational Theatre Association.

    She has won numerous awards including the Arthur Miller Foundation Excellence in Arts Education Award (2020) and several Shubert Festival Honors for her productions at Brooklyn High School of the Arts. She has also written curriculum for the Office of Arts and Special Projects in NYC, the acclaimed Apollo Theater in New York City. and the New York Public Library.
