Lisanne is a teacher, professor and director specializing in Educational Theater, Theatre for Young Audiences and Access and Belonging in theater. She worked for more than a decade as a theater teacher in the New York City public school system, served as an adjunct professor in the Educational Theater graduate program at the City College of New York and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Theatre Education at East Carolina University.
She has won numerous awards including the Arthur Miller Foundation Excellence in Arts Education Award (2020) and several Shubert Festival Honors for her productions at Brooklyn High School of the Arts. She has also written curriculum for the Office of Arts and Special Projects in the NYC Department of Education and is currently a National Fellow with the acclaimed Apollo Theater in New York City.
